What Makes a Silk Scarf Quote Different
A silk scarf quote starts with the fabric, not the artwork alone. Weave, momme and finished size set the silk use; printing and edge finishing add the remaining production work.
Choose the Silk Scarf Format
The finished dimensions determine silk use and artwork proportion.
Choose the Silk Weave and Momme
The weave changes sheen, texture and drape; momme changes weight, body and fabric cost. Approve both on the physical sample.
- Silk twill
Choose it when visible diagonal texture and more structure suit the design. - Satin or charmeuse
Check sheen, drape and dark colors on the selected sample. - Crepe de chine or habotai
Compare surface texture, weight and print appearance before approval. - Momme options
Choose 16, 19, 22, 25 or 30 Momme, then compare weight and body on the physical sample.
Set Artwork, Print and Color
Print method, artwork coverage and color approval are quoted for the selected silk, not from the screen image alone.
- Artwork scale
Mark the border, corners, center, print direction and logo position. - Print method
Digital and screen printing are handled in-house. - Color approval
Use a Pantone or physical reference, then approve a sample on the chosen silk.
Choose the Edge Finish
Hand rolling needs more manual finishing than a machine hem. The approved edge affects appearance, work time and quotation.
- Hand-rolled hem
Completed in-house; confirm the roll direction and edge color. - Machine-rolled hem
Review the stitch and finished appearance on the sample. - Baby or narrow hem
Compare the finished edge width with the artwork border.
What Changes the Silk Scarf Price
Compare quotations only when the silk, size, artwork, edge and quantity are the same.
- Fabric use
Weave, momme and finished dimensions determine the silk required. - Print work
Method, artwork coverage and color approval are reviewed for each design. - Finishing and quantity
Edge method, labels, packaging and pieces per design complete the quote.
Approve the Physical Silk Sample
Check the finished scarf flat, folded and against the same specification used for the quote.
- Material and drape
Confirm the weave, momme, hand feel and body. - Print and color
Review placement, border, direction and visible front-and-back effect. - Size and edge
Check the finished dimensions, edge width, corners, color and roll direction.
Choose the Right Scarf Route
Compare other materials when 100% silk is not fixed.
